The energy conservation and emission reduction play a crucial role in the construction and operation of the thermal power plant with the new promulgation of “Environmental protection law”. According to the new rules, the emission concentration of nitrogen oxides, dust and sulfide must be less than 50mg/Nm3, 10mg/Nm3 and 35 mg/Nm3, which indicate that the domestic thermal power plant have the enormous pressure in controlling the pollutant emission.In order to adapt the new forms of environmental protection and satisfy the requirement on the emission concentration of nitrogen oxides, dust and sulfide, in this paper the power plant of Longshan is transformed. Longshan power plant promotes the denitrification technology to achieve thexNO emission standards stipulated by the state. For dust system, four retrofit schemes are proposed in this paper, i.e., electric precipitator is transformed into electric-bag filter, mobile electrode modification is implemented for original dust collector fourth electric field, an electric field is added in the original dust collector, and wet dust collector is added at the desulfurization equipment tail. The four kinds of equipment reform plant are compared, and the results show that the fourth scheme can meet the new emission standard proposed by the relevant departments. Moreover, the fourth scheme can solve the problems that chimneys thick white smoke after adding the denitration device. As a result, the fourth scheme is employed as the modification scheme for the Longshan power plant. In addition, to achieve the requirement of sulphur emission concentration, the equipments, i.e., the flue gas system, absorption tower, sorbent preparation supply system, gypsum dehydration system, and process water system, are modified. After modifying the relevant systems, Longshan power plant satisfies the emission standard of nitrogen oxides, dust and sulfide emission in the new environmental protection area, which provides a reference for other power plants.
