Protection system is an important part of safe and reliable operation of the power system and if the protection system is flawed, it may affect the reliable operation of the system, thus eliminating the lack of protection system is one of the essential daily work. However, there is a lack of traditional artificial elimination of low efficiency, subjectivity and other issues, so computer-based algorithm will become the mainstream in related fields. The application of AHP in related fields is presented in this paper, and in the development of expert systems NARI Group as a platform to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.First, elaborate analytic hierarchy process is carried from both theoretical and practical application level, initially confirmed AHP in the lack of consumer protection system is feasible in the field. And, it respectively takes the typical defects of three Substations in Baoding area as examples to explain the current conventional treatment options relay common defects noted that the current inadequacies of eliminating defects exist in the work. Protection systems for common types of defects classified attributes, and according to the actual situation on the properties of relevance and defect dependence on different attributes hierarchically decomposed to establish analytic hierarchy model protection expert system. Finally NQX-9001 D system is taken as the basis for the typical feeder protection fault on break proposed method is verified, confirmed the feasibility of the method. Cited examples confirm the guidance of expert system defects query subsystem in the actual work.
