In recent years, as China's energy conservation and environmental protection pressure increasing gradually, making full use of limited resources, reducing the average coal consumption of thermal power unit, reducing emissions, improving the environment, and saving water resources, have become effective ways to realize sustainable development strategy. Air cooling technology can effectively reduce the thermal power plant water use, it is used in the areas with rich coal and poor water, and recently, a large number of air cooling power plants have been built in the north of our country. However, with the rapid development of air cooling technology, air cooling units has also exposed some problems such as generating full power during summer peak season, the steam turbine exhaust steam pressure increasi ng, and so on. Therefore, to improve the air cooling unit capacity, reduces the back pressure in summer, is of great significance.Adding peak condensers, use of dry and wet parallel cooling is a effective mean to improve the air cooling unit, reduce the coal consumption and back pressure of the unit in summer. Based on the actual operation condition of 600 MW air cooling unit in Shangan based on the, put forward different retrofit scheme, through the comparison and analysis, choose the optimal solution. According to the performance of test results, made effect evaluation and economic analysis to the selected scheme'practical operation. Specific research process is as follows:1) Based on the overview of Shangan air cooling unit and the located climate, the power plant need to solve the problem of power supply in summer, puts forward the solution: adding peak condensers.2) According to the basic plan and actual situation, and then put forward two solutions of adding peak condensers plan, two solutions have their own characteristics. this article contrasted and analysised the two solutiongs from security, investment cost and operation economy, and concluded that the first solution has a better overall performance.Therefore, option the first solution to adding peak condensers.3) Finally, based on the results of the performance test made the effect evaluation and economic analysis: for the 5# unit, when the load is 600 MW, environmental temperature about 27? condition, choose double pump operation mode is more economy; when the load is 450 MW, environmental temperature is about 24? condition, choose the single pump operation mode is the most economic; when the load is 300 MW, environmental temperature of about 22? condition, choose single pump operation mode is more economic. For 6# unit, when the load is 600 MW, environmental temperature is about 31? condition, it is better to adopt double pump operation mode is more economy; when the load is 450 MW, ambient temperature under the condition of about 25 ?, choose double pump operation mode is the most economic; when the load is 300 MW, environmental temperature is about 21? condition, choose single pump operation mode is more economic.This paper analyzed the transformation effect of air cooling power unit adding peak condensers, which have important practical value for improving the efficiency of the air cooling unit, and reducing coal consumption of the air cooling unit.
