With the rapid growth of the economy, it plagued most of our country large cities that traffic problems have been increasingly serious since the 1990 s, the problems of traffic congestion, environmental pollution have become increasingly serious, the existing balance of urban traffic supply and demand has been broken. The public transport is the main body of the comprehensive transportation system. It is significant to solve the problem of traffic congestion, traffic chaos, environmental pollution of traffic, and so on. However, there are a lot of serious problems, such as, lower speed, uncomfortable, waiting time longer, in the comprehensive transportation system, which brings inconvenience and trouble to the inhabitant trip. It is undoubtedly that the conflict has deepened between the growth of traffic demand and the relatively lagging development of public transport.In this thesis, bus dispatching of the public transport in Nanning city was taken as a study. Firstly, it analyzes the current development of socio-economic and traffic of Nanning. Secondly, it pays more attention to the two key factors of the passenger flow and companies operating conditions, based on the factors of bus dispatching, which combined of bus operating characteristics of Nanning. Thirdly, it establishes the optimization Model of bus headway which is aimed to minimize the total cost of between passengers and bus companies clearly. And the solving method of the Genetic Taboo Search Algorithm has been designed. Finally, in order to testing the availability of the model and algorithm, Nanning City, No.67 bus has been the instance of the application.In the comprehensive transportation system, interests between the passenger and bus companies are the mutually restraining and conflicting factors. The companies expect with a minimum capacity to get the maximum benefit, but the passengers expect fast, convenient and comfortable travel environment in the resident trip. In order to achieve a win-win between the passenger and bus companies, it is time to set up a optimization model of departing interval of bus route in the passenger waiting time and bus companies operating expenses that is particularly significant to the operating dispatching work of bus companies and other related departments.
