The Application Research Of SBS Modified Warm Mix Asphalt In Tunnel Of Ningwu Expressway

In Fujian Province, there is a larger proportion of mountainous and hilly region and it is inevitable to avoid a number of tunnels in the process of expressway construction.However, hot mix asphalt mixture construction in tunnel has many problems, so, the use of construction of warm mix asphalt mixture is a good choice.In the domestic, warm mix asphalt technology generally adopt the conventional asphalt or SBS modified asphalt added the warm mix agent on the mixing plant.The temperature of warm mix asphalt mixture in mixing and compaction is lower 20?30? than the hot mix asphalt mixture, but it almost has the same workability and pavement performance. So far, there is no domestic cement freeway use the finished product of SBS modified warm mix asphalt.This project combines the tunnel pavement engineering of Lengshi and Nankeng in Ningwu expressway of Fujian Province, using the finished product of SBS modified warm mix asphalt mixture to conduct in the two tunnels. The finished product of SBS modified warm mix asphalt is the ordinary asphalt modified by SBS and warm mix technique by one-time production process.The technique reduces the uncontrollable factors which may interference on the asphalt in the transportation and modification process, but its performance is more reliable and stable, especially suitable for the special projects which have high environment requires.The main contents of this research are:performance testing of raw materials and mixture design and detection of SBS modified warm mix asphalt mixture; the research on construction technology; quality control of construction site; the data collection and collation; economic analysis; comparative analysis of mixture performance and economic benefit between SBS modified warm mix asphalt and ordinary SBS modified asphalt mixture.According to the implementation of this project, the following is the application suggestion of SBS modified warm mix asphalt in Fujian:SBS modified warm mix asphalt is mainly applied to the paving of tunnel asphalt pavement with the length more than 1km; in the current technical conditions, SBS modified warm mix asphalt is not suitable for popularization and application in large area of other sections.
