As a new type of construction industrialization pattern, modular structure has a wide range of advantage such as flexible design, low carbon and energy-saving, high recycle utilization rate, rapid construction,quality guarantee and aseismic performance. This technology has been successfully applied to various types of buildings overseas. If it can successfully introduced and applied to our country, will be conducive to the domestic development of construction industrialization and green building. Consequently, the performance research of modular architecture is conducted in this paper with taking the existing domestic and overseasmodular technology into account.The main content of the study as follows:(1) Narrating the basic module unit, integrated kitchen and bathroom unit and attachment unit which included in the modular structure, introducing the assembly and connection method of different modules, and summarizing the characteristic of 3 kinds of structure system such as the self-supported module structure, additional component supported module structure and additional module supported component structure.(2)The simplified method of calculation model is explored by using the basic principle of mechanics under the action of the separate module in horizontal and vertical load, and it turned that the simplified method of connection between structure and modules.A separate module unit, a modular frame structure of 3 layer 3 across and a steel structure framework is set for the finite element analysis and compared the simulation value and the simplified calculation value.(3)5 groups of self-supported module structure numerical simulation model, which including double beam contrast model, multi column contrast model,adjacent floor connection form contrast model, node connection form contrast model and module combination model,is established by finite element software to make a contrastive analysis including dynamicbehaviour of structure, layer rigidity, the action of displacement, drift angle and internal force distribution under earthquake.It given out that the influence effect of the mechanical properties under different factors and the transformation law of internal component.(4)Taking the structure above the podium of a proposed modular structure to be the research object and set 3 kinds of structural systems to calculate the weight distribution of the structure under different solution respectively.According to the analysis of dynamic characteristics of structure, the layer stiffness, displacement, drift, peak acceleration and the plastic hinge distribution situation under different analysis mode including response spectrum analysis, frequent earthquake linear time history analysis and rare earthquake nonlinear time history analysis, it is concluded that seismic response characteristics of the modular structure.(5)Through a proposed demonstration modular building modeling by BIM technology,the present situation of the application of BIM technology in China is analyzed,BIM design process, software application solutions and modeling process of modular building is discussed. Meanwhile, the application of BIM technology for enterprise management,production, field inspection of components and install is explored.
