In recent years, with the deepening of the power system reform, it is becoming one of the hot issues in the power plant that how to improve the cascade hydropower stations in combination with optimization scheduling and the economic benefits of hydropower enterprises. Yellow River Xixiayuan Reservoir has been built at 16 kilometers downstream of the Xiaolangdi Dam reservoir, has been formed the cascade reservoirs of upstream Xiaolangdi Reservoir and downstream Xixiayuan Reservoir, so that we how to resolve conflicting issues of peak shaving operation and lower reach of the contradiction between Xiaolangdi Reservoir and The Yellow River downstream,increase the cascade total generating capacity(the economic benefits).According to the practical application of Xiaolangdi Reservoir and Xixiayuan Reservoir characteristics, the optimal operation study of the two reservoirs, in satisfies the requirement of comprehensive utilization of the downstream and the requirements under the premise of power load, the maximizing the energy cascade model is setting up, using dynamic programming method to solve, to formulate short-term, long-term power generation plan (year, month), and using advanced computer and database technology to develop the software system of cascade hydropower stations in Xixiayuan Reservoir optimal dispatching, so that we can ensure the timely and accurate to hydrology, and the operation information of reservoir, and to meet the needs of the hydropower station and the grid, quickly develop the cascade hydropower stations group of long, medium and short-term power generation plan of Xiaolangdi Reservoir and Xixiayuan Reservoir, provide technical support to achieve maximum benefits of hydropower.The combination of cascade reservoirs optimal operation can play Xixiayuan Reservoir's capacity of regulating actively, making the constraint condition of Xiaolangdi Reservoir under the uniform discharge is unleashed, play to their advantage of own high head, low water rate power.Both can satisfy the requirement of the cascade comprehensive utilization, and can improve the power generation of cascade overall efficiency and the utilization of water resources.Calculated using optimization scheduling model for generating a design value increases the capacity of about 500 million kW-h, calculated at the current price of Xiaolangdi Dam power plant and Henan power settlement 0.317 Yuan/degree, generation benefit by 159 million Yuan a year, at the same time, the comprehensive utilization of Xiaolangdi hydropower station will also play an important ability, so it can adapt to the design requirements.
