At present, under the background of the development of the urbanization, the competition between city and city is becoming fiercer. Cities are driven by the interests to carry out "the city’s make-up campaign",which aimed the road at seeking personalized, brand development. Homogeneity phenomenon of the city is because of there are too much emphasis on "modern city landscape beauty", ignore the importance of culture in the occupied city brand development.It is the theme can not be ignored that people should know how to use scientific and effective methods of landscape design, and at the same time, can actively improve the urban landscape environment, highlight the implication of urban culture, and build the well-known cultural brand of the city in view of some problems existing in our country in the city landscape design.Xi’an, as the provincial capital of Shaanxi Province, is not only an international modern city, but also rich historical and cultural resources of the ancient capital. It is a very important issue in the process of Xi’an city cultural brand building about how to meet the needs of modern aesthetic in the urban landscape design and build the characteristics of urban culture, make the city has unique style and build awareness and cultural influence of the city in the fierce competition.This paper combined with the four Xi’an city master plan in order to analyze the development of Shaanxi Tang cultural landscape project, explicit the importance and necessity of Shaanxi Tang cultural landscape project in city cultural brand building, explore how to though fully and reasonable use of the Tang Dynasty culture to create outstanding landscape design works of Xi’an which cohesive city cultural characteristics. To make Shaanxi Tang cultural landscape project and city cultural brand building to promote each other, the perfect combination, so that the city can complete the major mission which continuation of urban culture and highlighting brand personality.This paper is divided into six chapters, the first chapter summarizes the research on background and research status, defines the research on purpose and significance, to find the breakthrough point; The second chapter analyzes the connotation, general situation and characteristics of Shaanxi Tang cultural landscape project, and the related concepts and characteristics of the city cultural brand, explains the necessity of Shaanxi Tang cultural landscape project in the city cultural brand building; the third chapter include conditions of Xi’an urban cultural brand building and important elements of Shaanxi Tang cultural landscape project and play a role in urban cultural brand building, as a result, the interaction between Shaanxi Tang cultural project landscape and urban cultural brand building; The fourth chapter analyzes the design patterns, principles and methods of the application of Shaanxi Tang cultural landscape project in the urban cultural brand building; Chapter five selected as objects of three representative case of landscape design of Tang Paradise, the North Plaza of Great Wild Goose Pagoda and the Daming Palace National Heritage Park in Shaanxi Tang cultural landscape project, after a large number of field researching, taking pictures and thinking, respectively from three perspectives of the architectural design, landscape sketch facilities design and landscape pavement design to illustract; The sixth chapter draws the conclusion.
