With the development of the city, the city center area constantly expanding.in this context,it formed a large number of small satellite towns in a certain distance around cities. However, these areas of low population density, low travel demand and travel locations scattered which made public transportation demand less.It is difficult to maintain a fixed line and fixed shift traditional public transport services, which also largely limits the travel of residents.Meanwhile, public transport can achieve efficient operations inhigher number of trips during rush hoursin small communities surrounding the main city.In contrast, public transport can not do it because of non-rush hours. With the increase of the elderly and the disabled, conventional buses can't provide high-quality service for such special populations. And taxi which can provide door to door transport services are always higher in traffic expense, which isdifficult forsalariedpeople to bear. These defects not only caused great inconvenience to the residents to travel, but also reduces the attractiveness of its residents travel. For the sustainable development of public transport and the community,it is urgent need to develop demand-responsive public transport services to improve the existing public transport system.Firstly, this paper based on the basic concept of demand-responsive bus service system, then makes ain-depth study on foreign success stories and on the basis of research results in demand-responsive public transport services from domestic and foreign scholars.Subsequently the paper studies the characteristics of its services, vehicle type, capacityand to make this mode of transport compared with other modes of transport. On the basis of these,we continue to study its market position, service mechanism, operating mode, functional requirements, then established a general framework forservice system.Secondly, the thesis analyzes the external conditions of the development of demand responsive bus service adaptability which based on the combination of China's urban economic level, urban structure, population structure and the level of development of our traffic information,.The paper makes in-depth analysis on the key technical parameters such as relaxation time,fixed-site of demand responsive transit, service area, the grid frequency, vehicle speed technology, thenconstructsthe Comprehensive Evaluation Model of demand responsive bus service system. Finally, this paper takes urban fringe areas in Chongqing and small communitiesof flat peak traffic period in Chongqing as an example of analysis of adaptive demand-responsive public transport and make suggestions for development of demand responsive bus service in our country.According to the study of demand-responsive public transport services, the paper show that: it is suitable to develop the responsive public transport servicesin marginal urban areas and small communities offlat peak period in the main city.Demand Responsive Transit residents can not only improve travel convenience and comfort, but also, increase operating incomeand minimize operating costsby optimizing the allocation of resources. This paperprovides a theoretical basis and reference examples to develop Demand Responsive Transit in low demand of our regional.
