The high power of mine truck driving motor mostly AC asynchronous motor and DC motor, Switched Reluctance Motor( SRM) is not so popular. In this paper SRM drive system mining dump truck in the application is explored. Due to the dump truck was high inertia loaded, which can be ignored within a certain range of torque ripple and vibration noise, noise and vibration problems within a certain range. The half bridge power converter structure could make full use of the SRM with high reliability,less start-up current and repeatedly overdrive start traction performance high starting torque, to meet the mine dump truck various driving conditions. In order to further improve the performance of the SRM drive system, especially to reduce the torque ripple, this paper has carried out a series of studies.First of all, according to the working principle of SRM the quasi linear mathematical model based on SRM was described, and the energy feedback braking control strategy was determined by describing voltage equation, flux equation, motion equation and torque equation. The characteristics of the basic control mode are analyzed, and the control strategy of direct torque control and energy regenerative braking system is determined.In the Second place, the optimization design of the direct torque control strategy overall plan, since a significant disadvantage of traditional direct torque control is that the output torque ripple,the related hysteresis band and the switched frequency is not constant, which belonged to deadbeat control, this paper has proposed An optimized effective voltage vector duty cycle based on molecular kinetic theory methods to reduce torque ripple. This method reduced the torque and flux ripple, and kept the traditional direct torque control structure as simple as possible, and in order to eliminate the phenomenon of negative torque start, a specific boot space vector was made. So the starting performance is improved, and the torque ripple was reduced.In the next, by use the MATLAB software, the optimization direct torque control model of SRM drive system was built, In low-speed operation,the simulation of the current chopping control mode, the direct torque control mode and the optimized direct torque control mode methods were analyzed to verify the advantages of the new control algorithms and feasibility.In the last, the hardware and software of the SRM drive system has been designed based on DSP and CCS6.1 software development environment,hardware circuit included a main power converter, driver and protection circuit, position detection circuit, temperature detection circuit, current chopper control circuit;software included the main program, flux calculation program torque calculation procedures, monitor and protect program, etc. And I have done some experiments, the experimental results showed that the SRM drive system has strong torque overload capacity, large starting torque, small startup current, high reliability and good motor /generator performance. It is suitable for mining dumper Truck.
