Research Of Tibetan Landscape Design

With the continuous advance of the urbanization process in China, people are in a hurry to find a path to realize the cultural diversity as well as the convergent and harmonious development of building and environment in the fields of architecture and landscape architecture, which has laid a solid foundation for the development of landscape architecture. As an unique landscape form in the Tibetan area, Tibetan landscape architecture has gotten no better opportunities from the development of urbanization, but has been ignored in the modern urbanization process. It is very difficult for us to see more shadows of Tibetan landscape architecture in more and more urbanized Tibetan cities, which is a disadvantage. It is because of the lack of Tibetan landscape architecture in the urbanization, it is necessary to intensify the construction and the systematical theoretical support is also needed.The paper firstly summarized the design idea of traditional Tibetan landscape architecture, studied the development process of Tibetan landscape architecture, and expounded the special background of the ecological environment, religious culture and social economic system. After experiencing different stages, Tibetan landscape architecture has met the needs of social life in different periods of Tibetan and has developed a variety of landscape types. According to the different types and traditional features of Tibetan landscape architecture, cases of representative traditional Tibetan landscapes were used for systemic investigation. Through the research and analysis, characteristics of design elements and s patial characteristics of traditional Tibetan landscapes were summarized.And then with the combination of study on traditional Tibetan landscape cases and Zongjiaolukang Park reconstruction cases, the development process of Tibetan landscapes and characteristics of design elements and spatial characteristics of traditional Tibetan landscapes were studied. Through the research and summary, three design principles of modern Tibetan landscapes were put forward——the sustainable development principle, the func tional update principle and the national cultural integration principle. And six design countermeasures were also put forward——strategy, mainly including the functional segmentation, ecology, culture, technology, and morphological control, and public service.At last, based on the summary of design in the original construction, reconstruction and renovation of Tibetan landscapes, several problems are identified and inspirations are drawn, after which certain conclusions are made as follow:(1) The historic and cultural value of Tibetan traditional landscapes.(2) The strategies on the protection and use of Tibetan traditional landscapes.(3) The strategies on the inheritance of characteristics for newly-built Tibetan landscapes.(4) The role played by modern Tibetan landscapes as the city public zone in promoting the urbanization of Tibetan areas.
