At present, Architecture design is going toward to sustainability and adaptabilityfor conserving energy better,and creating good indoor environment that could satisfy the needs of human, and coordinate the relationship between architecture and the surrounding natural environment. At the same time, technologies of all sectors are in rapid development in today’s society, people’s aesthetic orientation has changed from appreciat ing the harmony of classical beauty in the past to pursuiting the aesthetic style of dynamic, technology-oriented and personalized now.In order to satisfy these requirements, the most direct way is to change the existing state of the facade. Turning the static facade into a kinetic facade, to make the facade interact with the environment and the needs of people. This is the realistic demand and actual meaning of studying the kinetic facade, and is the reason that choosing this area as the research subject.This article is tightly around the two key words—kinetic facade and the structure,to expand a detailed study and discussion. The main discussions are composed of three aspects,the basis principle of k inetic facade, the form and classification of kinetic facade and the structure technology of the kinetic facade. Through these studies, this paper summarizes main forms and basic principle for kinetic facade on the basis of conventional construction technique.
