The transposition technique of stator bar of the generation is one of the key techniques in hydro-generation design. With the development of the hydro-generation field and the increasing capacity of hydro-generation, it is impotent to design new transposition method for the stator bar of the hydro-generation to reduce the circulating current losses and improve the generator operation reliability.Based on a 180 MW hydro-generation, a numerical method is proposed to calculate the circulating current losses of the hydro-generation stator bar. The accuracy of the calculation of the circulating current losses of hydro-generation stator bar has been verified by the experiment. What's more the circulating current and circulating current losses of different transposition methods has been calculated. The disadvantage of traditional transposition methods is found, then a new combination transposition method is put forward.Firstly, a numerical method for the circulating current losses of stator bar transposition in a hydro-generator is proposed in this paper. The method for establishing the model of hydro-generation stator bar by numerical method and the principle for calculating the circulating current and circulating current losses are put forward. The accuracy of the calculation by this method has been verified by the contrast of the experimental measuring values and the calculated values.Secondly, the circulating current and circulating current losses of 360°transposition, deficient 360° transposition, 0°/360°/0° transposition with void and360° extended transposition has been calculated. What's more, the calculation results of this four transposition methods are analyzed in comparison.Finally, the disadvantage of traditional transposition method with void is found,then a new combination transposition method is put forward and the effectiveness for reducing circulating current losses of generator stator bar is verified.
