Missile sling is the special lifting equipment to lift and transport the missile compartment or the whole missile, its structure rationality, safety and reliability, operating convenience directly affect the lifting, the efficiency and the safety of the product, and it is one of the key equipments of the auxiliary equipment.Traditional sling was used to design by manual work. First of all, designing the structure of slings. Secondly, calculating the size of the structure and checking its safety. Thirdly, completing the 2D engineering drawing and BOM list manually on the AutoCAD software. At last, writing the design calculation report in hand to prove the rationality of the design of the sling. However, this way of design is inefficiencies, taking longer, and at the same time, it's easy to go wrong. A system was designed for the automated design of missile sling which was made from the concept of paper combined with the computer aided design and expert experience knowledge, aiming to improve the efficiency and quality of design of slings, making the design personnel committed to the development and optimization of sling design, and providing a powerful support for the development of missile product.This paper analyzes the original sling design method firstly, and referencing the existing advanced sling design concept, putting forward one kind of sling design process and solution by referencing the 3D CAD technology, knowledge engineering and CAE technology, and this solution has some functions included integrated 3D parametric modeling, 2D engineering drawing, BOM table, engineering calculation and simulation analysis. And then this paper discusses the key technologies used in the development of the design systems, including the standardization of the sling structure form and the structure, the expression and processing of experience formula of design, and the parametric assembly modeling technology for sling product.Finally, the author finally completed the development of the special sling design automation system of missile based on knowledge, system includes conceptual design, security automatic check, 3D model simulation, assembly drawing and 2D engineering drawing batch output, BOM table automatic generation, calculation report automatic generation, ANSYS analysis software interface, etc. The system has been used in the enterprise of the design of the sling, realizing the full automation design from the design to the output.
