100MVA pulse generator unit is the main power supplier of J-Text tokamak device and it was given by the University of Texas with the device in 2005. The unit is consisted of a three-phase asynchronous motor and a 100 MVA pulse generator, who's rated power supply parameter is 12 k V/60 Hz. Under this power supply, the rotational speed of the motor can reach 713 rpm(round per minute) and the energy stored by the unit can reach 180 MJ. But when the unit is running in China, where the parameter of power grid is 10 k V/50 Hz, its maximum rotational speed reduces to 598 rpm and the stored energy reduce to 135 MJ. In order to raise the speed and stored energy of the unit to satisfy the need of J-TEXT devise's high parameter experiments, an upgrade of the unit is needed.The upgrading project made full use of the motor's structure of winding-type rotor, used double-fed control method to implement the speed control in the system. As the core of the doubly-fed speed regulation system, doubly-fed speed control system should accomplish measuring, controlling, protection in the system, and communicating with center control system of power sources. Based on the specific needs of 100 MVA pulse generator and the requirements of doubly-fed speed regulation system, this article completed a doubly-fed speed control system's design and implementation.The structure, principle and control methods of double-fed speed control system of asynchronous motor is studied. Referencing methods in vector control strategy, the mathematical model of double-fed motor is simplified. Using this simple model, a double-closed loop control strategy which is consisted of speed loop and current loop is designed, as the main control of the system; The PWM control principle of voltage source DC-AC-DC converter is studied and a double-closed loop control strategy with DC voltage loop and AC current loop is designed. Using this strategy, the DC voltage and AC current can be controlled; The accurate rotor speed and position measurement system based on PCI-1784 U board and incremental rotary encoder, the algorithm and realization of stator flus observer is studied and implemented on QNX. At last, the measurement, computing and communication functions are implemented on the platform of QNX 6.0.Based on the former researches, the article designed the operational strategy of double-fed speed control system. By doing system simulation and prototype experiments, the strategy is proved to be correct and feasible and finally it works well on 100 MVA pulse generator unit. It provide a foundation for the high parameter experiments on J-TEXT device.
