The cigarette lighter is an essential configuration for the modern automobile, and its shell belongs to the small size, thin thickness, complex shape and high precision stamping parts. It is very important that improving the design technology of the precision progressive die and optimizing the stamping process in the production of cigarette lighter shell.According to the analysis and calculation of the stamping process on the cigarette lighter shell, the drawing of the cigarette lighter shell was simulated and analyzed by finite element simulation technology for sheet metal forming. The effect of the drawing coefficient, die radius and the drawing force on forming quality was analyzed. The validity and superiority of the average section method was proved in the drawing of the ultra-thin stair-stepping deep cylindrical parts with shallow conical surface. The stamping process of the cigarette lighter shell was optimized, and it was a reference for the stamping process of the similar complex stamping part.According to the stamping process optimization scheme, the layout design and the structural design of the precision progressive die was completed in this paper by the modern die design technology. The motion analysis and examination of the precision progressive die structure was completed by the movement simulation technology, and the rationality of the structure design was ensured.
