In the rapid development of the modern city, red ucing unnecessary energy consumption means the improvement of the environment and the promotion of economyic benefits. Outdoor lighting energy consumption is an important part of urban energy consumption.Therefore, reducing outdoor lighting energy consump tion is an significant issue in the development of urban today.This Intelligent Street Lighting System designed to be able to control each streetlight independently, gather the operation information of every street lamp, and give feedback to host-computer software in control room through Ethernet or RS-485 bus,which sets up a streetlight monitoring network covering every street light control node.This system uses the structure of bus, in which the slaves are managed by the host. The host includes two parts:a information management controller and a main controller. The slaves receive the control command from the host through RS-485 bus, feedback and control the lighting status of the streetlight trough optical sensor and electronic ballast. Apart from the mentioned above, what were designed and made useful in the system were the host-computer software, the main control circuit,and the communication protocol between the host controller and controller, which realized the function of controlling every streetlight skillfully.When it comes to the hardware design, information management controller uses a chip named MK60DN512 Z which contains the Freescale Kinetis’ s ARM-based Cortex-M4 kernel, whose minimal system consists of a power supply filter circuit, a clock crystal oscillator circuit, a reset circuit,and a JTAG download interface.The main controller using a chip named MC9S12XS128 which is the Freescale’s automotive S12 Series 16-bit microcontroller, ensure the stability of the system. Lamp controller uses a chip named ADM2587 E to receive the signal from RS485 and perform the function of adjusting appropriate lighting. RS485 interface uses a chip named ADM2587 E, which reduces the complexity of the circuit and reduces the amount of PCB space considerably.As for the software design, the master information management controller uses the MQX real-time operating system,and use its TCP/IP stack to realize the function of web communication. The conmunitcation between the host controller and slave based on GB/T 19582.1-2008 is also realized, which is able to meet the the needs of the intelligent street lighting control designation.The communication system to PC was realized, and a simple test is done. Test results showed that the pose estimation system have good static stability, can reflect the mothion tendency in dynamic, and have robustness against external interference, which improved the practical value of the system.At last, the control system including hardware and software were tested. Test results show the design is correct.
