In the field of seismic research of structural engineering, pseudo dynamic test is one of the important methods. Due to the increasingly complexity of the seismic performance and structure system, the structure testing method is facing with large-scale and complex problems. These problems can be solved with substructure pseudo dynamic test method,which can simulate seismic performance of structures with less cost.Moreover, substructure pseudo dynamic test based on finite element software can improve the accuracy of numerical substructures, thus improving the precise of tests.The open source software OpenSEES is a good choice as numerical simulation tool for developing substructure pseudo dynamic test software,due to its multiple choices of materials, members and its highly open nature.This thesis studies mainly on substructure pseudo dynamic test method based on OpenSEES and related program development, in which communication function of Tcl language is used for data exchange. The feasibility and effectiveness of the program is verified through a substructure pseudo dynamic test.This thesis discusses the basic theory of substructure pseudo dynamic test,using proper numerical integration to establish dynamic equations, which is coded by Tcl language. Structural boundary conditions and coordinate conversion of substructure pseudo dynamic test are also discussed in thesis.Some basic theory of time history analysis in OpenSEES is introduced, as well as material constitution relations, sections, nonlinear beam-column elements and equation solving method.Development process of the substructure pseudo dynamic test program based on OpenSEES are presented, including model building process and commands, parameter modification in analysis steps, and real-time output etc. This thesis also introduces the communication method between substructure pseudo dynamic test program and interface software and connection with Popwill devices.A series of virtual substructure pseudo dynamic test are conducted tosimulate seismic response of a high-rise reinforced concrete frame, in which a column located in first floor is took as testing substructure under different boundary conditions. The test results are compared with time history analysis of the frame, and the good agreement verifies the feasibility of this method, which can provide reference for simplifying boundary conditions of complex substructure pseudo dynamic test. In the end, utilizing the program,a real substructure pseudo dynamic test of a three layer concrete-filled steel tube frame with 6m*6m grid is introduced,which is conducted in Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
