As a patented foundation technology with independent intellectual property rights, Cast in place X-section Concrete Pile (abridged XCC pile) is developed by Geotechnical Research Institute of Hohai University, In order to expand the perimeter and increase the bearing capacity, the axisymmetric section of XCC pile is created based on a principle, which can enlarge the perimeter of special shaped section by changing the direction of the circular arc with the same area.Now it can be widely used in highways, municipal roads and have a good effect.As a new kind of pile, professor Liu team have done lots of fruitful research,such as horizontal bearing characteristics, geometric characteristics and so on,but for the bearing characteristics under the vertical and lateral load of the research has not been deeply.so,we use the chamber tests system in the hehai university, combined engineering test data,using the ABAQUS software, analyze and compare the bearing characteristics of cast-in-place X-section pile and PHC pile under the vertical and lateral load, provide the basis for the two different types of engineering applications pile. This paper follows the work:(1) Recalled and summarized the development of new piles and the current test and theory study on the behavior of pile under lateral and vertical loads, presented the purpose of this paper;(2) Presented the development idea, section parameters, and construction equipments of X-section pile and summarized the precautions and the quality testing methods of X-section pile. Provide a reference for further application in Liaoning province.(3) Established the calculation model of X-pile using ABAQUS, verified the correctness of the model by comparing the calculation results with the model test results, identify reasonable modeling;(4) According to the actual situation, establish the different condition numerical analysis models under lateral and vertical loads, analysis the impact of the way for X-section pile bearing characteristics under different loads;(5) Find the X-section pile under lateral and vertical loads,analyis bearing capacity characteristics,, and try to give the specific optimization methods and recommendations in engineering practice.
