With the rapid speed of urbanization and global climates changing, our residentialenvironments are facing huge challenges. For human’s disregard on natural and human’sactivities against natural rules, the existing hydrologic natural circulation chain rupture. Itleads to the water shortage, frequent flood, serious water pollution and other urgentproblems. The traditional urban construction rules based on drainage are no longer suitablefor modern urban construction need. By bringing in a series of ecological stormwaterinfrastructure design, the traditional drainage pipeline would be relieved,the anti-floodability of city would rise and the stormwater streams would be reduced. The stormwatermanagement landscape design would broaden the stormwater management area in ourcountry and provide new ideas for sustainable developments of cities.The article discussthe possibility and necessity of ecological stormwater management by using thelow-impact-development (LID) mode.Also the article introduces the specific ecologicalstrategy on stormwater management and its landscape designing.Firstly, the article demonstrates the background, the purpose and the meaning of thisproject. After the basement of plentiful reference reading, the article summarizes relevantLID research and stormwater use research; it constructs a reasonable and clear researchframe.Secondly, the article demonstrates relevant basic theory, including LandscapeEcological Theory, LID Mode And Approach, and Natural Hydrological Circulation. Theyprovide abundant basic theories for this project.Thirdly, the article demonstrates the constitution and design principle of urbanstormwater use system, which mainly includes the constitution and loop path of stormwateruse system. It demonstrates urban stormwater use system in collection, infiltration andfiltering; The main affection factors include rain drops, soil and landforms; The useprinciple can be divided into source treatment and decentralized treatment; The principlesof urban stormwater use proposed in this article include LID Principle, EcologicalPrinciple, Landscape Principle and Continuable Principle.Finally, it summarizes relevant practice from domestic and overseas. It demonstratesLID urban stormwater use principles and approaches in three aspects: stormwater usestrategy and approach on urban level, which is demonstrated in stormwater use facility siterecognizing and network construction; stormwater use strategy and approach on field level,which includes permeable pavement, stormwater colloection,, storm water garden, roofgarden and wall afforestation; stormwater use strategy and approach in landscape,including stormwater collection landscape, stormwater storage landscape and designstrategy for facility of comprehensive stormwater use.This article aims at urban stormwater use strategy based on LID and offer meaningfulideas for urban stormwater use in our country. It can make the landscape architecture in our country more ecological and continuable and help to improve urban inland inundation andwater shortage.
