This paper summarized the characteristics of the typical parts structure of the wardrobe and the connection methods between the parts.And through investigation and theoretical analysis,studied most often damaged parts of wardrobe and its damage mode.Taking poplar wardrobe door as the research object,the physical mechanics properties of poplar woods were measured.Simulating the cabinet door with poplar L–type specimen,loading on the testing machine,this paper examined the effect of(1)joint form(butter joint,miter joint),(2)position of top rail and stile(top and bottom,the same height),(3)different shoulder(bridle joint,haunched tenon and mortise joint,corner through mortise and tenon joint),(4)integral tenon and loose tenon(tenon joint,dowel joint)on the bonding strength.On the basis of this,the effect of combining different materials on the bonding strength were studied.Finally,effect of the mounting screw of the hinge base,and its screw torque and the size of the hinge cup on the installation strength were measured.The following conclusions can be drawn:(1)Doors,drawers,handle locks and other hardware,shelves are found to be prone to destruction.In general,higher usage frequency,greater force or stress concentration,moveable components are easier to be damaged.(2)In tenon joint,the joint strength: butter joint>miter join.In double dowels,the joint strength: butter joint<miter join.And when compared with integral tenon,the joint strength of double dowels is much lower than that of the integral tenon.(3)In butter joint,bending strength: top rail is as high as stile>top rail is above stile,torsion strength: top rail is as high as stile<top rail is above stile.But in general,position of top rail and stile has little effect on the strength.(4)Bending strength is much greater than the torsional strength,and when bending strength is large,the torsional strength is also large.Designer should pay special attention to the torsional strength.(5)In general,the larger the area of tenon and plastic is,the greater the bonding strength become.So the strength is bridle joint>haunched tenon and mortise joint>corner through mortise and tenon joint.(6)The enhanced effect of double dowels+ angle code is very limited.While the enhanced effect of ashtree biscuit is more remarkable.(7)The installation method of hinge has effect on the installation strength of cabinet door.The EUR screw using in hinges base has greatest strength,40 mm cup hinges has a greater strength than that of 35 mm cup hinges,and to some extent,the greater the torque of the base screw is,the greater the bonding strength become.
