As the most complete and broadest wetland ecosystem in the warm temperate zone of China, the Yellow River Delta Wetland has unique ecological landscape as well as important ecological service functions. With the increase in population and the intensification of high-intensity development and construction activities, the sensitivity/fragility of the area is highlighted, which poses a great threat to the sustainable development of coastal areas.Aiming at the unique geographic location and resource characteristics of the Yellow River Delta, based on the RS technology and the GIS spatial analysis method, the human interference degree model as well as the construction status of regional artificial ditches was used to intuitively reveal the temporal and spatial characteristics of human disturbance intensity in 1995,2004 and 2015 at the regional and local scales, explore the response of the wetland landscape pattern to human interference activities, and based on the principle of coordinated development for land and sea, assess the importance of ecological service functions and ecological environmental sensitivity/vulnerability in the study area, identity areas where development is prohibited, and scientifically explore the selection and planning of areas under the red-line ecological protection, which is of great significance for a more reasonable regulation of human activities, implementation of the ecological protection red line system, and better development, utilization and management of coastal wetlands. The results obtained in this study are as follows:(1)Temporal and Spatial Dynamics in Human Disturbance ActivityFrom 1995 to 2015,both the hemeroby index and the density of artificial ditches in the Yellow River Delta had increased significantly, and its spatial distribution showed a trend of expansion from the southwest to the east and north, and from inland to coastal areas.(2)Response of landscape pattern to hemerobyThe response of landscape pattern to hemeroby varies regionally and temporally. In the Kenli Agricultural Area,Hekou Agricultural Area and Shengli Oil Field Area where theintensity of human interference activities had been relatively high and the intensity increased significantly, the regional landscape pattern changes obviously in different phases. In the Yiqianer Management Station and the Huanghekou Management Station where the intensity of human interference activities had been relatively low,due to the increase in the density of artificial ditches, the landscape pattern had presented a decreasing trend in landscape diversity, patch complexity and ecological connectivity from2004 to 2015.(3)Selection and planning of areas under the red-line ecological protectionAccounting for 65.18% of the study area, the red line areas are mainly distributed in the land in the eastern part of the Hekou Area and the adjacent sea area, the land in the northeast of Kenli County and the area within the near-shore water depth line of 5m.In addition, the southwestern part of the study area is also scattered with red line areas, most of which are continuously distributed within the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve and its surrounding areas, which not only enhances the protection of the mudflats and coastal waters, but also identifies relatively important ecological functional patches in inland areas.(4)Ecological protection and management measures in the Yellow River Delta WetlandThe red line areas should implement strict coordinated land and sea management and ecosystem-based conservation management, formulate strict regulations and policies, establish the negative list system and ecological compensation mechanism, construct ecological corridors and ecological nodes such as river, farmland and forest, and establish a wetland ecological protection network.A red line monitoring and management platform featuring integration of land and sea should be established relying on the big data platform,so as to fully grasp the ecological composition, distribution and dynamic changes of the red line areas, monitor human interference activities in real time, and timely detect any human behavior destroying areas under the red-line ecological protection.
