Top drive drilling system developed in the 1980 s has been widely used in marine and land drilling operation.Drilling speed and efficiency are greatly improved due to the application of top drive drilling system.Also it can control and avoid accidents timely,and ensure the safety of the operator which is greatly reducing the labor intensity.Top drive drilling system has been widely recognized and accepted by oil industry experts in the word.It has become the representative of advanced equipment in oil drilling.With the development and progress of science and technology,the structures of top drive become more and more complex,also the function is more powerful.The trainers need to spend a lot of time to understand its structures,working principles and technological process from teaching materials and the scene.It is not beneficial for managing and operator training because of the poor visualization and operability of teaching materials and the complexity and higher risk of the training environment.Based on the above,it is necessary to design and develop a set of top drive virtual interactive operating system for simulating the operation,showing the structures and operation process under the virtual laboratory environment.The virtual system not only provides the real learning environment for training personnel,but also reduces the training costs,ensuring the safety of the learning staffs.And it is important for proper using of petroleum equipment,giving full play to the ability of the equipment,improving working efficiency and ensuring personal safety.The structures and working principles of TDS–11SA top drive and auxiliary equipment have been introduced firstly in this thesis.Geometry analysis of the structure of the top drive pipe processor has been conducted.Geometric kinematic equations of the rings and the hydraulic cylinder of rings tilting device have been derived.Virtual operating experiment scene and various types of equipment have been created in 3DS Max software.Based on the geometric kinematic equations and top drive operation process,top drive virtual interactive operating system has been developed with the help of Virtools platform.In virtual systems,the trainers can achieve scene roaming,configuration displaying,carrying out the basic operating of top drive and drilling operations by operating the keyboard and mouse,and the system has a friendly user interface which is easy to learn and operate.
