As a result of long-term erosion of injected water,partial region of a sandstone reservoir has developed thief channel resulting in massive injected water having no effect on oil displacement and the low final recovery.As a result,recognition of channeling is a key technology for enhancing oil recovery.For the time being,quantitative identification is more difficult compare to qualitative identification.The main goal of this article is to find criteria and identify thief channel quantitatively.At first,we find the equation of permeability changing of GD field and realize permeability changing on numerical simulator.Secondly,we select characteristic parameters,which can define thief channel.At last,we intend to find the effecting of well pattern on thief channel forming.The chosen characteristic parameters,which can define thief channel,is recovery of grid,and initial permeability.Calculate multiple of permeability changing of different saturation zone.According to the characteristic of the thief channel,the threshold of thief channel is gotten.Then the value of parameters can determine whether a grid belongs to thief channel or not.Based on permeability changing simulator,effecting of well-pattern on the forming of thief channel is researched.The result is that the row well pattern vertical to the river is the best well pattern,because thief channel is formed later and the volume is smaller,the oil recovery is larger.
