The requirement of MTBE,an important additive of gasoline for octane number improvement,has increased rapidly.This paper takes a 100,000 t/a MTBE process units of domestic as research objects.First,the process units were simulated by utilizing chemical process simulation software Aspen HYSYS.Then the operating parameters of the reactor,the reactive distillation tower,the water scrubber and the methanol recycle tower were analyzed with the above simulation results.The effects of different above parameters on product quality,energy consumption and the product yield known,some improvements and optimization suggestion were put forward.Through the implementation of these measures and recommendations,the device operating conditions has been further optimized to improve product quality and reduce the energy consumption and achieve good effect.It provides a successful example,which is making use of Aspen HYSYS to improve the technical management level about the operation of the device.
