Industrial Application Of Catalyst CR401 And Optimization Measurements

Combined with the operation of 0.4Mt/a continuous catalytic reforming(CCR)unit in Sudan Khartoum refinery Co.Ltd.,the paper research on the actual application of CR401catalyst produced by AXENS Company in France.With 10 years of catalyst analysis data,research the physical property of the catalyst CR401 such as the catalyst specific surface,particle mechanical strength,impurity content,chloride and water balance,coke rate and platinum dispersion degree.French catalyst CR401 is strickly limited to impurity content in reformer feed.Combined with the actual operation this paper analyse the influence to the catalyst by the impurities,and put forward different solutions due to catalyst impurity poisoning.Till now the CR 401 catalyst has been in service for ten years,it is far more the warrenty by the producer,AXENS.Recently,at the end of the operation,the catalyst physical property decrease a lot such as activity,the mechanical strength which resulted in large amount catalyst fines.It caused serious threat to the safe operation of the equipment.It also has gereat impact on the material balance of the whole plant.Through a series of process optimization operations,including adjusting the regeneration process parameters,washing catalyst fines filter,and other means.Consequently the activity of the catalyst CR401 became stable gradually and improved the economic benefits.Sudan Khartoum refinery 0.4 Mt/a CCR unit faced the frequent trips of recduction hearter due to the coke fines inside.It has great impact on the stable operation.The root reason is the little oil in the reduction hydrogen.The unit took the measures to improve the purity of reduction hydrogen.Although hydrogen purity was improved to 99.0%,a trace of C5~+can not be eliminated absolutely.In this paper compared with the similar unit,feasible scheme were proposed to deal with the problem.
