For the characteristics of replacement in horizontal well cementing,dimensions of the experimental devices are determined based on principle of similarity.Stable similar fluid is concocted for various requirements of experimental fluid in density and rheological property.Flow visualization method is used to observe the process of displacement.Multiple density contrasts,eccentricities,n values,k values and flow rates are specified to study the changing intermixing lengths of displacement with time or length.Meanwhile,the full processes of power-law fluid displacement in eccentric horizontal annulus are simulated using Fluent,which is a computational fluid dynamics software.The changing intermixing lengths with time or length are observed,and displacement efficiencies are calculated.At last,the influence of the all the replacement parameters are analyzed combining both experimental and numerical methods.
