Alcohols are widely available, quite cheap, stable, with low toxicity, easily stored and handled,so they have very high economic value for the synthesis of high-value-added amines. This paper presents a process for the preparation of amines by octanol amination and the screening of highly selective catalysts to study the influence of the reaction process on the reaction. In this paper, according to the shape-selective catalysis of zeolite microporous,Ru catalyst over Beta25 zeolite was screened. It exhibited excellent activity,n-octylamine selectivity and stability in the octanol reductive amination reaction. At the hydrogen pressure of 5 bar and the temperature of 180? and the ratio of ammonia and alcohol of 15-17,the conversion of the oactanol on Ru/Beta25 is more than 40%and the selectivity of the octylamine reaches to 100%.Pd catalyst supported nano-CeO2 is excellent Catalytic activity of n-octanol reductive amination reaction, and the incorporation of Ni can further increase the catalytic activity of Pd catalyst. In this paper,0.5%Pd-0.5%Ni/CeO2-HS catalyst has the the advantages of high selectivity to catalyze the amination of the octanol to the secondary amine. At a reaction temperature of 180?,a hydrogen pressure of 5 bar and a reaction time of 2 hours, the selectivity of the secondary amine reached 80%.The resulting catalyst and process have excellent performance and high industrial application prospects.
