| The TEM-136BS twin screw extruder studied in this paper is the key equipment necessary for the production of a refinery enterprise.The twin-screw extruder with good mixing and high efficiency can be used for engineering plastics modification.Because of the sudden occurrence of the accident,the production line of the factory was shut down,which brought great economic losses to the factory.The fracture of screw shaft in synthetic resin extruder is studied in this paper.The following investigations on fatigue fracture of the screw shaft were carried out:the chemical elements analysis,mechanical analysis,metallographic analysis,fracture analysis and torsion check of the screw shaft metal material,Finite element analysis was also carried out to find out the root cause of the accident.The conclusions were as follows:1)There was no defects in chemical composition and mechanical strength was in the safety range;2)Fatigue was the cause of the fracture,and the crack started in stress concentration area of the screw shaft;3)Vibration in the bearing housing was the main cause of the fatigue fracture.Approaches to avoid similar accidents were given in this thesis.The research outcomescould help to reduce equipment failure rate,so as to ensure the safety and smooth production of the enterprise. |
