With the development of the fertilizer industry,the output of compound fertilizers has increased year by year.Due to the unique advantages of compound fertilizers,it has gradually become the main direction of development in China’s fertilizer chemical industry,but the content of chlorine in fertilizers will affect the soil changes and the growth of the crop.However,the conventional method for the determination of chlorine in compound fertilizers has the problems of large manual error and poor reproducibility.Therefore,the ability to detect the content of chlorine in fertilizers easily,accurately,and quickly becomes one of the problems that the relevant departments need to solve and optimize.X-ray fluorescence(XRF)detection technology is an important method in modern routine analysis and is used in many fields.The energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer(EDXRF)has been widely used in petrochemicals,industrial materials,and geological minerals because of its advantages of high precision in element analysis,rapid analysis of elements,low requirement for sample preparation,and stable measurement results.Analysis,environmental testing,clinical,electronic technology,archeology and other fields.This paper studies the development of XRF spectrometers,the status quo of compound fertilizers,the theoretical basis of EDXRF,the structure of the instrument,and the experimental principles,conditions,and methods for analyzing silver elements.In view of the fact that EDXRF can quantitatively analyze the elements in the material,the article uses EDXRF to measure the content of chlorine in compound fertilizers.However,because of the problems of chlorine,a light element with low fluorescence yield and low excitation efficiency,EDXRF has The measurement result is not ideal.In this paper,the measurement of chlorine is transformed into the measurement of silver,and the experimental conditions of the best tube voltage,light tube current,and measurement time for silver are measured by EDXRF.The content of chlorine is determined indirectly by the chemical formula relationship between the silver element in silver chloride and chlorine.According to the method described in this paper,the content of chlorine in the sample was 2.72%,and the relative standard deviation was 0.42%.It showed a good agreement with the test results of the Volhard(GB)method.The measurement method in this paper also provides a new idea for the application of EDXRF to measure light elements.
