Study On The Application Of Hydrogenated Castor Oil Used In Bodywash Formulation

The application of hydrogenated castor oil in bodywash product was studied systematically in this thesis.We disscussed the character of hydrogenated castor oil crystallized in surfactant solution under high temperature condition.When cellulose beads and zinc sulfate pyridine were selected as suspending object,the performance based on its crystal structure to suspend different particle size material was explored.Aiming at achieving the optimum suspending capability,it is necessary to control melting temperature at 91°C ± 3°C,cooling rate at 1°C/min,keep shearing during melting and emulsification.During this process,the smaller the hydrogenated castor oil particle size is,the more effective the crystallization efficiency will be,also it is crucial to keep slow shearing during crystallization(<70°C).Towards to the formula contains hydrogenated castor oil,we measured the yield stress,cooling rate,stability and physicochemical indexes,and demonstrated the corresponding relationship between them and the product performance.The thesis eventually ascertains an optimal manufacture process and the product with excellent application performance to meets the consumer needs.The production method above is convenient to manipulate and economical,and easy to add in the process of bodywash.The overall performance of hydrogenated castor oil crystal structure suspending capability via pilot production has also been proved.
