Ultrahigh Molecular Weight polyethylene(UHMWPE)refers to the molecular weight of more than 1.5 million polyethylene,is a linear structure of the thermoplastic engineering plastics,it has other general plastics' unparalleled excellent comprehensive performance,it's called "magic plastic".It has almost all kinds of plastic excellent performance,such as impact resistance,wear resistance health,non-toxic,corrosion resistance,self lubrication,low temperature resistance,water absorption,tensile,small density and not easy to adhere.Because of its excellent performance,ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene has replaced steel and other materials widely used in all walks of life.The study on mechanical properties of UHWMPE is of guiding significance for its practical application.This article first through some mechanical tests(tensile test,compression test,bending test),the test measured its compression performance,tensile properties and bending properties on differentconditions,such as different molecular weight,different heat treatments and different temperature.The experimental results show that the molecular weight,temperature and heat treatment have some influence on the mechanical properties of UHWMPE.Its mechanical propertieshas a certain degree of temperature dependence.With the increase of temperature,tensile properties and bending properties of UHWMPE are significantly worse.Different heat treatment methods,the cooling rate is different,the performance of UHWMPE is different.The results show that the flexural strength,flexural modulus and tensile strength of the material increase with the decrease of cooling rate.Then,the compression creep test,stress relaxation test and fatigue load compression testdelves theviscoelastic properties of UHWMPE.Study on the viscoelastic properties of UHWMPE is helpful to maintain the size and performance of the profile.the viscoelastic properties of UHWMPE has a certain degree of temperature dependence.With the increase of temperature,the UHWMPE profile is more prone to creep.
