Chi as one of the traditional patterns in China,it has important research significance. It has been in the history of Chinese ancient jade for more than two thousand years. The different historical period, therefore lines show different image in the jade and grain change, its span of long history, rich change, show the charm of Chinese civilization, reflects the two thousand years of Chinese ancient society politics, culture, life and people's aesthetic concept changes. This paper systematically studies the evolution and cultural significance of the jade grain by consulting a large amount of literature and field investigation. The origin of the first, will therefore fall into four kinds: like a tiger beast, dragon is one of the nine children,no Angle of the yellow dragon, dragon female, and distinguish the therefore and the main difference is therefore dragon head and limbs more like beasts.Secondly, the development of the grain in ancient jade is divided into four stages, namely, embryonic stage, peak period, decline period and redevelopment period. In the spring and autumn period, the characteristic of the grain is that it resembles a cat.It is shaped like a snake, and is shaped like a snake. At the height of the han dynasty, the emperor was pleased to symbolize the imperial power with a grain of chi, which was characterized by a small head,a single eyebrow,a square nose, and a shape of a snake, which was more closely related to the tiger. In the declining wei and jin dynasties, the social unrest led to a smaller and rougher pattern, but the curvature of the shape increased.Because of the influence of 'secularization' in the tang dynasty, the use of grain was reduced. In the song dynasty, the development of the chi pattern was resumed, although the features were similar to those of the han dynasty, but there were still "three-petal tail" and other innovations. The grain of the yuan dynasty was influenced by the nomadic style and became rough and rough. In the Ming and qing dynasties, the pattern of the grain was mainly found in the archaize jade, and the features were the characteristics of the various dynasties, but there was no innovation of the time.Thirdly, this paper analyzes the symbolic language of the grain, which is mainly divided into the extension of dragon culture and the symbol of the rank of imperial power. Moreover, the application of chi symbol in modern design was collected and sorted, and the design of "tongxin knot" was designed in modern jewelry design. The research of this paper is to provide more reference and use value for the inheritance and promotion of jade culture.
