Qinghai Institute of Archeology found painted coffin paintings of Xia Tatu in Tibet Regime,characters,animals,daily necessities,plants and other life scenes are painted on the coffin paintings.Characters include male and female,the most outstanding of the whole picture is male figures,not only because of its large number,but also the rich dynamic behaviors.It is not difficult to find the headdress with a clear hierarchical models,the aristocracy can wear a high cylinder cap,but civilians and wear flat headscarf,which is convenient for labor.This phenomenon reflects the increasing social attribute of clothing.The clothing accessories of coffin painting characters with are rich,small objects like a band or a knife at waist are adorned among the non-ethnic figures.Women are mainly aristocratic women,makeup ocher face and hair styles are also different.This paper,based on image,rethinks and tests the acquired materials according to the division of the dress of male aristocrats and civilians,female aristocrats and civilians in the coffin paintings,and using the demonstration form of self-drawing style structure,sketches out the typical clothing style of the characters in coffin paintings during Qinghai Tibet period and divides Tibetan clothing into three categories: half arm,lapel robe,front opening robe,and Tibetan people also like to wear cloak.The study of Tibetan costumes in the coffin paintings reflects the cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries during Tibet regime.With the attention of the academic circles on Tibetan empire in recent years,the value of the study is becoming more and more academic.The study of this subject visually presents the rich clothing culture of the characters in the coffin paintings of Tibet regime,which does some basic work for in-depth enrichment of Tibet clothing culture research and for the prosperity of its material culture.At the same time,with the integration of the elements of Tibetan clothing into modern clothing design,the author elaborates the impact of its design innovation,and finally makes personal design attempts.
