Study On The Application Of Xi Lan Ka Pu Pattern In The Design Of Fashion Knitwear

Xi Lan Ka Pu is popular in western Hunan in China,which is the clustering area of Tu jia people.It is one of the quintessence of Tu jia traditional culture,listing in the National Minority Intangible Cultural Heritage and having a relatively high research value.With the development of times,as the traditional folk handcraft in China,how Xi Lan Ka Pu advances with times and adapts to the society need to be further investigated and studied.Firstly,starting from the concept of Xi Lan Ka Pu,basic application forms of Xi Lan Ka Pu,its historical development and the protection and exploitation were briefly introduced through analyzing relative literatures and folkway investigations.Then artistic characteristics of Xi Lan Ka Pu pattern was analyzed in detail including themes,folk connotations,color characteristics,and modeling and structure characteristics.Secondly,from the theoretical perspective of knitwear,the feasibility of combining Xi Lan Ka Pu pattern and knitwear was analyzed.Taking examples from prominent matching rules of colors in Xi Lan Ka Pu pattern,unique modeling and structure characteristics and its containing deep cultural connotation,comprehensively using theoretical knowledge like aesthetics,design science,semiology and adopting means of artistic expression in modern design like splitting and reorganization and exaggerated transformation,creative patterns were designed.Finally,design practice of series of works was conducted through mainly adopting computer knitting jacquard technology.It means keeping the artistic characteristics of Xi Lan Ka Pu pattern and finding a new path to not only realize the mass production but also realize innovations and breakthroughs in types of materials,the waving process and the visual effect.Ethnic cultural resource is the best gene bank of origin of designers' inspirations and their designs and creations.Combining Xi lan Ka Pu pattern with knitwear designs not only positively influences Xi Lan Ka Pu folk art in the aspects of protection,inheritance,exploitation and innovations,but also brings new life to knitwear designs.It aims at realizing the traditional and ethnic goals in nature but meeting the modern and fashionabledemands in manifestation.With the aesthetic standards of modern people,knitwear designs adopted traditional elements will be more competitive and more innovative.
