A Research On Culture And Art Features Of Hakka Women’s Clothing In Eastern Guangdong Region

Dress culture art is regarded as a crystallization of human’s material and spiritual civilization.The initial function of clothing is to cover body,keep warm and decorate.With the development of the society,dress has gradually bore the value of the specific cultural information.The evolution of costume embodies a nation’s culture and history,economic development and the change of aesthetic consciousness.The exteriority of costume culture is the important basis to judge and identify a nation.Under the influence of nature,humanities,geography and history,the Hakka clothing present a unique artistic features.Hakka ancestors originated from the Han in the Central China,who initially migrated into a rainy,humid,hilly land in the south to escape war.Through a historic deposit of thousand years,they formed their own unique Hakka culture.Hakka clothing culture,as an important constituent of the Hakka culture,its value orientation is based on Confucian harmonious culture,which inherited the heritage of Wei and Jin dynasty and the dress culture of Central China.Due to the influence of the special environment,the Hakka clothing fused with local indigenous dress culture and constantly created abundant styles,both retaining the essence of ancient culture of Central China and developing unique Hakka design idea.Compared with the general Hakka clothing,Hakka women’s clothing in eastern Guangdong has certain commonality with the general Hakka women dress.However,due to the influence of the natural environment,folk beliefs,and surrounded ethnic minorities,the costumes also show a characteristics of individualization,diversity and richness.Its shape and cultural connotation present a unique artistic style,imposing an important enlightenment to China’s modern clothing design.Hakka costumes culture is an important part of the Hakka culture,which contains rich and self-restraint contents.In the long-term process of development,the Hakka costumes made a special clothing style to be a treasure of culture.During different historical periods,the Hakka women’s dress were always closely related to their historical evolution and development,economic and social progress,the accumulation of culture.In this paper,through literature review,field survey and in-depth interviews and other methods,eastern Guangdong Hakka women dress were investigated.The Hakka’s history,traditional culture characteristics,women’s dress inheritance and rheology,as well as the external characteristic and the analysis of the aesthetic of traditional Hakka women’s clothing in eastern Guangdong,are introduced in the article,with the purpose of showing the artistic features of Hakka clothing,understanding the aesthetic appeal and art wisdom of the Hakka people in eastern Guangdong.This research ultimately aims to inherit and protect the Hakka traditional costumes,whichcontains a superb technology and rich cultural connotation,and to fuse the Hakka traditional clothing style into the modern women’s clothing manufacture to design a series of products combining cultural heritage and innovative applications.
