With the advancement of urbanization process, population is rapidly expanding in city. The urban ecological environment is being affected by production and life of residents. The consumption of nitrogen produced by residents is one of the important elements involved in urban ecological cycle,With the increase in the number of urban population, residents of food consumption of nitrogen also increased,it has brought negative impact to the urban ecological environment.Nitrogen footprint has become one of the important indexes to evaluate the sustainable development of urban ecological environment. This study estimates and analyzes the dynamic trend the food nitrogen footprint of urban and rural residents from 1985 to 2015 taking Jiangxi Province as an example, with the main framework of the N-Calculator model.Simultaneously, selecting the per capita disposable income, the Engel coefficient, the average population of the family, the proportion of the college population above the education, the per capita GDP of Jiangxi Province, the urbanization rate, making spearman correlation analysis using SPSS,to explore the relationship between urban and rural residents' food nitrogen footprint and socioeconomic factors.Based on the results of the estimation, forecasting food nitrogen footprint of urban and rural residents in Jiangxi province from 2016 to 2020 by GM?1,1?model,putting forward suggestion on controlling nitrogen footprint in Jiangxi province,in order to provide a reference case for the study of food nitrogen footprint of urban and rural residents. The main conclusions are as follows:?1?The per capita food nitrogen footprint of rural residents was fluctuating, the urban residents was decreasing.During the period from 1985 to 2015,the per capita food nitrogen footprint of rural residents in Jiangxi province fluctuated between13.8492kg/?N?-1a-1-17.2151kg?N?-1a-1,the average value is 15.9188kg/?N?-1a-1,The urban residents fluctuates between 18.7127kg/?N?-1a-1-23.1615kg/?N?-1a-1,is 20.7997kg/?N?-1a-1.?2?The nitrogen footprint of residents' food in Jiangxi Province is logarithmically related to the per capita GDP,which is linearly related to the urbanization rate. From 1985 to 2015,the total per capita food nitrogen footprint of rural residents in Jiangxi province was negatively correlated with per capita disposable income, college degree or above, positively correlated with family average population,Engel coefficient and price index. The urban was negatively correlated with per capita disposable income and college education.?3?The results showed that the per capita food nitrogen footprint of rural residents was13.37kg/?N?-1a-1 in 2016 and 12.80kg/?N?-1.a-1 in 2020 was decreasing trend in Jiangxi province. The urban 16.60kg/?N?-1a-1 in 2016 and 16.66 kg /?N?-1a-1 in 2020 also showed a decreasing trend in Jiangxi province.
