Since the 21 st century, the demand for textiles is gradually increasing as the society developing and people's living conduction constantly improving. These demands are not limited to comfort, warmth and beauty of textiles. The added value of textile products is important in textile industry. With the growing shortage of energy and water, the worsening of environment pollution, the environmental protection consciousness of people is greatly improved.More and more studies began to focus on development of low energy consumption, low water consumption, and low pollution processing technology. However, the existing traditional textile dyes have many problems, such as low dyeing rate, trivial dyeing process and high energy consumption, and water waste.Noble metal nanoparticles including silver and gold nanoparticles possess localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR)properties, which leads to absorption in at different wavelength. The LSPR brings about show different colors of noble metal nanoparticles. These noble metal nanometer materials with a certain color can be used as a colorant can give the fabric bright colors, greatly expanding the awareness for textile dyeing, but not limited to traditional dyes and pigments.Source of natural fiber is an important material of textile industry, mainly composed of cellulose fiber and protein fiber.Cellulose fiber mainly includes cotton, hemp,Protein fiber mainly hair fibers includes wool and silk. But for some of natural fiber, such as wool, silk and cotton, bacteria and other microorganisms result in fiber damage and cause skin diseases, etc. The treatment with gold and silver nanoparticles fiber not only endowed a different color, but also showed a strong antibacterial activity. The functionalization of textiles based on nanoparticles enable people to pursue the maximum value of goods, such as resistance to sunlight fastness, resistance to ultraviolet, antibacterial performance and self-cleaning performance. While traditional textile process must go through a series of finishing process to obtain different fucntions. In this topic,we developed the in situ synthesis of gold and silver nanoparticles on thenatural fibers by controlling reaction factors, such as the concentration and pH value, for producing different color fabric. The treatment based on the in-situ synthesis of gold and silver nanoparticles imparted natural fabrics to colors, antibacterial feature, improved UV protection and catalytic activity. We achieved the complex coloration of cotton and silk using noble meatal nanoparticles and traditional dyes, which extended the color range and endowed fabrics with multifunction. The present thesis includes mainly the two following aspects:1)Coloration and functionalization of cotton fabrics based on gold nanoparticles.Gold nanoparticles were in situ synthesized on cotton fabrics through heat treatment in water bath. The influences from the gold ion concentration and pH value on the coloration process were investigated. The properties surface and structures of cotton fabrics before and after coloration were analyzed. The color fastness to washing and rubbing for the cotton fabrics treated was measured. The functions including antimicrobial,UV-blocking and catalytic properties were evaluated.2)Study on the complex coloration of natural fabrics using noble metal nanoparticles and traditional dyes. The cotton fabrics treated with gold nanoparticles were dyed using traditional dyes to achieve the complex coloration of fabrics. The optical and color properties of dyed fabrics were characterized. The catalytic activity of complex colored fabrics were also investigated. Moreover, the cotton fabrics with gold nanoparticle were used as surface-enhanced Raman substrates to detect the Raman signals of dyes on fabrics through enhancement effect. In addition, silver nanoparticles combined with traditional dyes were used to color cotton fabrics. The color and catalytic properties of the treated fabrics were analysed.
