In recent years,with the continuous rise of global temperature and higher requirement for the comfort of textile products,regardless of the spring and summer or autumn fabrics have a tendency to lose weight.However,it is well known that with the decrease of the mass per unit area of fabric,the shielding performance decreases.Especially in summer,people favor the light-colored fabric.However,light colored fabric is much less shade than dark fabric.Therefore,based on the needs of people,someone put forward the fabric with good visual shielding property,which is a good solution to the contradiction between the light and shade of the fabric.Fabric with good visual shielding property has a good market prospect.But so far,it has not set up a complete set of testing and evaluation methods in the visual shielding of the fabric,which greatly limits its further development.At present,spectrophotometer is one of the most commonly used and relatively authoritative textile testing equipment,but the cost is high.The purpose of this paper is to explore an instrument,simple,inexpensive,accurate and suitable for all kinds of fabrics to evaluate the fabric's visual shielding property.In this paper,60 kinds of fabrics were firstly classified: white and colored fabrics.Secondly,the comparative experiments were carried out: human visual evaluation method and spectrophotometer method.Finally,since the comparison of color,gray difference and the ratio of RGB after backing black and white board was feasible in theory.New ideas of testing the visual shielding property of fabrics with colorimeter method,image gray processing method and image processing method of RGB were put forward and verified.Main conclusions were as follows:(1)Colorimeter method and comparative experimental method for white fabric measurement results of correlation degree was high,the numerical rank phase relationship was 0.9387(compared with the human visual evaluation method)and 0.9874(compared with the spectrophotometer).The rank correlation values of the measured results for colored fabrics were 0.8234 and 0.7078.While the rank phase relationship between the two comparative experimental methods were respectively 0.9409(white)and 0.7364(colored).To sum up,the evaluation of the visual shielding properties of the various fabrics with colorimeter was not inferior to that of the spectrophotometer.Therefore,the colorimeter was suitable for visual evaluation of fabric shielding,considering its rapid testing speed and lower purchase cost,as long as the conversion could be realized and the colored fabric measurement precision be improved.(2)For measurement accuracy,image gray processing method and comparative experimental method for white fabric measurement results of correlation degree was high,the numerical rank phase relationship was 0.9287(compared with the human visual evaluation method)and 0.9874(compared with the spectrophotometer),no less than colorimeter and spectrophotometer.In the measurement of colored fabric,the image gray processing method showed better performance than the other two methods.The rank correlation values were 0.8052(compared with the visual evaluation method)and 0.9026(compared with the spectrophotometer).Therefore,the image gray processing method was the best choice for the evaluation of the visual shielding property of colored fabrics.(3)The image processing method of RGB was based on the gray processing method to simplify the operation steps,which eliminates the gray image conversion of this intermediate step.Then comparing to comparative experimental method for white fabric measurement results of correlation degree was still high,respectively 0.9343(compared with the human visual evaluation method)and 0.9869(compared with the spectrophotometer).While for colored fabrics,it was relatively low,respectively 0.7050 and 0.8377.In other words,for measurement accuracy,there was still a certain gap between this method and the image gray processing method for colored fabrics.
