By doing failure analysis of the current Coal-cutter’s Pin Gear.The statistical shows that there are two main types of failure forms:tooth surface wear and tooth walking and is not able to cooperate with Pin row very well.Finally accelerating the Pin row damage.This situation on the overloaded Coal cutter is especially striking.According to many big coal mines accident analysis reports summary analysis thinks failure of Coal-cutter’s Haulage mechanism causes are cutter Gear design strength is weak and tooth surface wear resistance is low.This paper tries to focus on the two main reasons of the failure.Form the pitch and carburizing process in two ways to improve Haulage mechanism’s properties,eventually to extend the service life of mechanism.MG1000/2250-GWD Coal cutter as the research object to study,the research and analysis were carried out from two aspects:in terms of pitch design,considering the hydraulic support,scraper conveyor and Coal cutter the relationship.without changing size of scraper conveyor under the premise of design,the pitch of existing Coal cutter Gear adjust to 176mm,finally check the strength of new gear;in terms of carburizing process,the carburized layer thickness increased to more than 6mm,to analyze the simulation and practical experiments results,it is show will be a long carburizing instead of 3 continued short carburizing is more advantageous to improve the quality of surface.The main research work is summarized as follows:1)Based on the middle tank’ s of Scraper Conveyor calculate pitch of Pin Rail is 176mm;2)It’s studied that parameter of 176mm pitch of Pin Gear basing matching relation between Pin Gear and Rail,at the same time checking the strength of gear;3)Through the comparison analysis of the new 147mm pitch and 176mm about intensity,calculated that strength increased by 16%;4)This paper attempts to improve the Pin Gear’s hot working processes by changing carburizing time from 125h to 90h that carburizing three times.Due to considerable cost spend on test,used Deform-3D to analog simulation carburizing process,Finally through the comparison analysis of the result about carburized layer depth and the curves of carbon concentration.5)There is comparison analysis of new project and old one about carburizing layer depth,the test result prove the new project better than old.The above research and analysis have certain guiding significance to improvement of the performance of the Pin Gear.
