For the pressure casting, the flow behavior of the molten metal during the filling process has a significant effect on the quality of the die casting process. How to control the flow of the molten metal liquid in the mold cavity becomes the key and difficult problem to be solved in the die casting production. Therefore,it is very important to study the flow behavior of die-casting alloy during filling process. With the rapid development of numerical simulation of die-casting process, the current die-casting behavior is based on numerical simulation technology to analyze the velocity field and temperature field of metal-filled cavity. Some researchers supplemented with water simulation technology,by observing the flow of water in the mold cavity to study the filling process of metal liquid, and achieved some results. However, computer numerical simulation and water simulation are often related to the actual metal liquid filling process has a certain deviation, the results still can not replace the real filling flow results. There are also some researchers using X-ray to observe the filling behavior of metal liquid, but for die-casting molding, the filling time is very short,X-ray is difficult to fully record the entire filling process. In order to solve the problems,in the present study,we built a visualization platform of die-casting filling process, using high-speed camera as a shooting medium, overcomed the die-casting filling process is short and difficult to shoot and achieve the intuitive observation of the die-casting process.Taking the plate sample as the object of study, through the MAGMASOFT simulation software to simulated the filling process in same process parameters. The shooting results and simulation results were compared, the results show that:(1)The injection speed has a significant effect on the filling time and cavity filling degree. The faster the injection speed is,the shorter the filling time is.When the injection speed is too slow, the aluminum liquid is prematurely solidified,so the liquid can't fill the cavity.(2)The higher the injection velocity, the smaller the effect of the molten metal on the filling process, the shorter the time required to reach the same cavity position, and the incoming aluminum liquid More. The smaller the rate of injection, the weaker the ability of the metal to cross the midline and continue to fill forward, the easier it is to accumulate near the obstacle.(3)Air entrapment phenomenon during mold filling will change with the change of the injection rate.In the process of filling the molten metal of the aluminum alloy plate sample, the higher the injection rate is less likely to form the air entrapment in the central round table. But in the upper part of the cavity, air entrapment phenomenon will be more serious.(4)By comparing the results of computer numerical simulation and shooting results, computer numerical simulation can qualitatively study and predict the filling time of and air entrapment, but in the quantitative analysis of metal liquid filling time, air entrapment and other defects, the numerical simulation results can't replace the true die-casting filling results.
