With the rapid development of aviation,aerospace,engineering machinery,automobile,high-speed rail,shipbuilding and other manufacturing industries,the demand of gear type and quantity is increasing,resulting in that the type and quantity of cutting tools and fixtures for gear machining.Due to the great similarity between cutting tools and fixtures,cutting tools and fixtures management in the workshop is more difficult,and mixed using of cutting tools or fixtures in processing.It seriously affects the production efficiency and quality for gear machining.In addition,most of cutting tools and fixtures management methods in gear machining workshop are backward,and production is separated from management.It is difficult to coordinate and unified the management of cutting tools and fixtures.Cutting tools and fixtures management costs far more than those purchase.Therefore,tools and fixtures digital management in gear machining workshop is studied,and cutting tools and fixtures management system for digital workshop of gear machining is designed.First of all,analyse the demand of cutting tools and fixtures management,determine the basic functions of cutting tools and fixtures management system,such as coding management,information management,purchasing management,tracking management,selecting management,inventory management,maintenance and scrap management.Establish network connections among the upper management server,some computers in workshop and machines,introduce the method of production processing and the business processes of the whole life cycle management,including planning stage,purchase stage,using stage and maintenance stage.Establish four layer system architecture based on B/S and C/S,which is user layer,application layer,processing layer and support layer.Then,research on 4 key technologies.First,establish a static information model and a dynamic information model using cutting tools and fixtures information.Describe the expression and calculation of position,state and life.Second,the selecting method of cutting tools and fixtures,according to many requests,determines the processing sequence and selects a more suitable tool through the selecting strategy.Third,analyse cutting tools and fixtures identification control during testing on machine.Take gear hobbing machining as an example,here are proposed a positioning control method of RFID read-write head reading the fixture information based on fuzzy self-tuning PID algorithm and a rotating control method of cutter bar’s or fixture’s axis based on the time of RFID device reading information.Fourth,through analysis of data exchange between cutting tools and fixtures management system and other systems,the integration model of the systems is established based on Web Services,realizing the sharing of cutting tools and fixtures information in some systems laying on workshop or upper plan management.Next,design the system functions in detail from managers’ and operators’ perspective.Describe the internal relation and interaction among functions.Establish the system using process to illustrate the time sequential of messages transmission among users and function modules.Design the system database in detail,including database conceptual design and logic design.Finally,the cutting tools and fixtures management prototype system for gear digital machining workshop is designed based on above architecture design,functions design,key technologies research and so on.Then some system functions are described.
