Cardanol is the main component of cashew nut shell oil, which belongs to renewable biomass energy. As a kind of natural renewable resources, cardanol is widely used in various area : national defense ,agriculture, and other fields, which has profound practical significance in promoting China's energy diversification, renewable energy and industrial upgrading. In this paper, the comprehensive utilization of cardanol mainly used in chemical catalysis, we have developed three new technologies: cardanol to p-xylene; using cardanol as raw material to make fifteen alkylcyclohexane?fifteen alkyl benzene;using cardanol and methanol as raw material to make Six methyl benzene.The influencing factors were investigated and the experimental conditions were optimized.First of all, the catalytic cracking process was used to study the optimum reaction conditions of the catalyst. Using ZSM5-40 as catalyst,when the dosage of 4 g, reaction temperature is 430 ?? conversion of cardanol was 100%, the main component of product are phenol and p-xylene. The effects of reaction temperature on the products were investigated. When the reaction temperature is 400-470 ? , the conversion rate of reaction in more than 90%, when temperature is 470 ? , the p-xylene of product is 15.8%.The effects of temperature and pressure on the conversion rate and the selectivity of the target product were investigated by using Pt/Al2O3 as catalyst in the production of fifteen alkyl cyclohexane. When the Reaction condition is 2.5 MPa, 340-400 ?, the conversion rate of raw materials can reach more than 85%. When the temperature is 340?, the effect of pressure on the reaction was investigated. The conversion rate of raw materials increased with the increase of pressure in the range of 2.5-4.0 MPa.When the pressure is 4.0 MPa, temperature is 360 ?, the selective of fifteen alkyl cyclohexane up to 80.5%. The aromatic substances in the products obtained at different temperatures were analyzed. In the preparation of “cardanol to fifteen benzene route",use MoO3 as catalyst, when the temperature is 400 ? and pressure is atmospheric conditions, the conversion of cardanol was 100%, the selectivity of fifteen alkyl cyclohexane was 46.9%.A process route for the preparation of six methyl benzene from cardanol and methanol was developed. The effects of catalyst, reaction temperature and pressure on the reaction were investigated. The results showed that when the temperature is 400 ?, catalyst Al2O3, reaction gas is nitrogen , the selectivity of six methyl benzene can reach to 98.9%.
