Pharmaceutical industry is one of necessary industries to uphold the stability and healthy and the sustainable development for human and society,but its fast growth also resulted in serious environmental problems,of which Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)contamination from the pharmaceutical industry wastewater treatment system are easy to creat secondary pollution and odor pollution,a particular attention in recent years.Due to the role volatilization,stripping,mixed reactions,some VOCs from wastewater in the process of wastewater treatment and disposal of pharmaceuticals escaped into the atmosphere.This is a serious threat to the health of staff and residents near the plant’s.Taking a Weisheng Pharmaceutical wastewater treatment plant in Shijiazhuang as the object of the research,the GC/MS analysis method was adopted to study the composition and content characteristics of VOCs in the samples from SUMMA tanks used in each processing unit and the plant boundary.The producing way,orientation and escape mechanism of VOCs during the pharmaceutical wastewater treatment were analyzed principally,based on the analysis of wastewater composition.25 kinds of VOCs were detected from wastewater.The concentration of VOCs in the grit chamber is the highest,and the highest concentration of the pollutants is vinyl chloride,whose value was 17.7mg/m3.The concentration range of TVOCs is from 0.96 to 32.10 mg/m3,and the main VOC contain chloroethylene,2-butanone,acetone and ethyl acetate.Meanwhile,VOCs have more varieties and TVOCs concentration is greater.Therefore,the VOCs gases that evaporate off of the pharmaceutical wastewater should be paid high attention to.The health risk assessment method of USEPA was modified to preliminarily assess the health risks caused by VOCs based on the Characteristics of VOCs(VOCs concentration,flow rate,temperature,humidity and particle content),the technical and economic performance of VOCs processing technology and the emission standards.The results show that the carcinogenic risk indexes of vinyl chloride,1,3-butadiene,Benzene,O-xylene and Hexane arel.1,3.4×10-2,1.5×10-3 1.2×10-5 and 3.6×10-6,respectively.The Pollution Level Analysis of detected VOCs was obtained from a simplified model of the health risk assessment.The holistic health risk value is in a range between 3.2 × 10-3 to 1.1,which far exceeded the acceptable risk level(10-6)recommended by the International Commission on Radiological Protection(ICRP)for the human body.Using a mathematical model based on fuzzy mathematics and AHP analyzes the pharmaceutical industry VOCs in wastewater treatment technology.The Technical Indicators and Economic Indicators of Absorption and Adsorption are better,Comprehensive Evaluation of biological is better.
