Our country,as a textile big country,has obtained the development at full speed in textile industry in recent years.Style evaluation plays an significant role in developing,designing,and selecting fabric.Generally speaking,style evaluation for fabric is often researched in terms of mechanical properties,static,or dynamic drape.In the process of these methods,multiple measurements and multiple indexes are needed.Then a synthetic evaluation for fabric will be proposed.Obviously,this tedious method greatly influenced by subjective factors can not be able to meet the requirements for Quick Response advocated nowadays.Therefore,a new method of style evaluation for fabric should be discussed.This new method can not only complete the overall evaluation only by one-timeand non-contact measurement,but also predict the various styles between different fabrics in mechanical properties,static or dynamic drape.Consequently,greatly improve the efficiency of each link,such as designing,developing,and merchandising cloth and garments.In order to ensure that all fabrics being evaluated are in the same experimental conditions,a device controlled by step motor for displaying fabric dynamic appearance is designed and applied into our experiment.This device mainly is used to simulate the movement when some raised joints,like knees or elbow,striking at fabrics.Because there are so many kinds,different thicknesses,and various weaves of fabrics,representative light-weight fabrics for spring and summer are selected as the research objects.Firstly,the motor processes of every fabric will be captured by two high-speed monocular cameras so that continuous image sequences will be obtained.Secondly,some techniques about binocular stereo vision,such as image preprocessing,feature point extraction,feature point matching,camera calibration,motion tracking,iterative reconstruction are applied into extracting feature points and their corresponding 3-D space information.Subsequently,movement of all feature points are batch processed by some data processing methods,for example,some mathematical statistics methods like clustering analysis,fitting.Movement of the discrete points on fabric can be proposed to motion characteristic parameters quantitatively so that data support can be provided with style evaluation for fabric.Style evaluation for fabric is researched from two perspectives:handle style and shape style.To handle style evaluation,because semantic expression of KES-F handle style is very full and in place,the handle evaluation indexes follows the KES-F’s evaluation indexes of light-weight fabrics for spring and summer in my paper.The numerical relationship between motion characteristic parameters and handle evaluation indexes,between motion characteristic parameters and 16 mechanical properties are established.Then evaluation model for handle style between the independent variable motion characteristic parameters and the dependent variable handle evaluation is built.To style shape evaluation,mainly aiming at shape style,use static drape instrument to measure drape performance and obtain draping parameters.The main factor analysis is utilized to extract draping evaluation factors and the corresponding factor evaluation equation.The draping evaluation factors can be regarded as shape style indexes.In addition,discuss the relationship between motion characteristic parameters and shape style indexes,between motion characteristic parameters and draping parameters.Then the shape style evaluation model between the independent variable(motion characteristic parameters)and the dependent variable(shape evaluation indexes)is established.In this paper,two relative style evaluation models are proposed.One is the fuzzy matter-element analysis based on Euclid approach degree,and the other is based on standard fabric.Although this novel evaluation method is not in allusion to a certain evaluation index,explaining the relative differences between various fabrics in evaluation indexes,and according with the psychological decision logic for standard object.At the end of this paper,in order to make the evaluation method being practical and instructive,use Visual Studio2008 creates a Win32 console application for evaluation system of fabric style.The construction idea of this application is mainly from capturing movement of fabric,extracting motion characteristic parameters and style evaluation these three module.What’s more,cloth is simulated by Open GL and Matlab.Through this research,this novel style evaluation for fabric,only taking one-time and non-contact measurement of motion and using visual information differences between various fabric,can complete the whole style evaluation.What’s more,new evaluation method can simplify the complex traditional evaluation process in which the multiple measurements for every index then comprehensive evaluation are necessary.It is not a test but an extension for traditional evaluation methods.
