Research On Evaluation Of Low Carbon City In China Based On TOPSIS

In recent years,the quality of people’s life continues to improve,while the price of it is that the emissions of CO2 is increasing,which has undermined the sustainable development of the mankind.Thus,the word "low carbon" catches the eyes of people.While the city as the main point of development,the population is dense and the expenditure of energy is large,which usually causes the large carbon emissions.Controlling carbon emissions in cities without inhibiting economic growth has become the top priority of low carbon,which is the content of low-carbon city research.In order to advance the research of low carbon city,construct the evaluation index system has become the primary task in the research,which can not only evaluate low carbon development of the city from its various aspects,but it also can evaluate the progress of low carbon transformation from a certain level.So as to find the effective way to the case,providing the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the construction of low-carbon city can transform the economic theory into the tool of serving the society.Therefore,this paper will combine theoretical research and empirical research.Firstly,on the basis of explaining the distinction between similar concepts,the concept of "low carbon city" are defined,and then reviews the evaluation of low carbon city research at home and abroad,and analyzes the sustainable development theory and other related theories.Next,this paper carefully selects 16 indexes such as million yuan of industrial output value of comprehensive energy consumption and so on,and constructs a set of simple and feasible,scientific and suitable evaluation system.At the same time,the paper selects the national 30 provincial capital city as the research object,and using the TOPSIS method and entropy method,evaluate and analysis the object of study from four aspects of economic development,social progress,low carbon environment and the whole comprehensive development.Finally,for finding the comparability of each city’s low-carbon development,and to guarantee the precise of the suggestions,this paper uses the cluster analysis to classify the 30 provincial capitals.The similar characteristics to the city as a group,according to the features of different categories,the author names them as the leading type of low carbon city,the low carbon city of excellent development and bad environment,the low carbon city of bad development and good,the middle type of low carbon city and the backward type of low carbon city.According to the different types of cities,the author proposes some countermeasures on the construction of low-carbon cities.
