With the development of science and technology, the polymer composites with both magnetism and fluorescence have got a lot attention,it’s been proved that they have great potential uses in various fields. In this paper,theα/ZnS andβ/ZnS composites were successfully synthesised by emulsion polymerization method or pyrolysis method respectively(αandβstand for Fe3O4-OA/PMMA/P(St&NVP)and Fe3O4-SC/Si O2/P(St&NVP)).The morphology and structure of the composites mentioned above were characterized by IR,XRD and granulometer, and the results showed that Cα/ZnS and Cβ/ZnS performed good fluorescence properties without fluorescence quenching, and their average particle sizes were 593.6 nm and 670.5 nm respectively.Theα/ZnS andβ/ZnS composites were further carbonized in tube furnace under the protection of nitrogen at high temperatures, then the two different magnetic fluorescent carbon sphere composites represented as Cα/ZnS and Cβ/ZnS were collected and then characterized through IR,XRD,BET and granulometer. It’s been proved that the average particle sizes of Cα/ZnS and Cβ/ZnS composites were556.9nm and 596.4nm respectively. And the adsorption capacities of Cα/ZnS andthe influences from contact time and temperature on the adsorption capacities were also investigated.Adsorption kinetics of the magnetic fluorescent carbon sphere composites towards Cu2+,Hg2+and phenol was fitted by quasi-first-order reaction equation and quasi-second order reaction equation, the results showed that the adsorption kinetics were corresponding with second-order reaction kinetics model. The fluorescence quenching effects from Cu2+and Hg2+to Cα/ZnS and Cβ/ZnS composites were analyzed by fluorescent spectrometry. The results show that:when the magnetic fluorescent carbon sphere composites(0.01g)were added into solvents of Cu2+and Hg2+(40-120 mg/L),the difference in the fluorescence intensity of Cα/ZnS and Cβ/ZnS(F0-F)could show great linear relation with the concentration of Cu2+and Hg2+.The detection limits of Cα/ZnS and Cβ/ZnS towards Cu2+were 2.75mg/L and 5.53 mg/L,and those towards Hg2+were 3.92 mg/L and 4.36mg/L respectively.
