| Magneto-optic glass mainly uses the Faraday effect of magneto-optical effect,the Faraday effect reflects the ability of the material to be parallel to the direction of the incident light in the presence of the magnetic field and the polarization plane of the linearly polarized light passing through the medium is deflected and the deflection angle is constant.Applications of Magneto-optic materials range from magnetic field sensing and security encoding to optical modulators,diodes,isolators and switches.The current magneto-optical materials are divided into crystal and amorphous,amorphous compared to the crystal.First easy to prepare,glass processing technology is mature,paramagnetic rare earth ions are evenly distributed in the matrix glass,and the magneto-optical glass has good optical properties the preparation of large size,good optical properties.Second,the glass is an isotropic medium,which itself does not have birefringence.Third,Glass material in the formula design,molding and processing process has greater flexibility,can be prepared in line with the application of magneto-optical glass.Precursor glasses with nominal compositions of 15GeO2-20B2O3-20SiO2-(45–x)Ga2O3-x Tb2O3(x with 15,18,20,22 and25 mol.%)were prepared by conventional melting and quenching.The optical lattice and optical band gap were calculated by using the multi band optical rotation coefficient measuring instrument.Finally,the influence of rare earth oxide on the physical properties,structure and spectral properties of the magneto-optical glass was studied.explores the effects of physical properties,structures,and wavelengths on the Verdet constant,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)With the increase of Tb2O3 content,the density and refractive index of magneto-optical glass increased linearly,and the density of magneto-optical glass was increased by replacing Tb2O3(7.3g/cm3)with Ga2O3(5.9g/cm3),At the same time,with the increase of the refractive index of the glass,the oxygen ion polarization rate and the optical basicity increase with the increase of the molar content of Tb2O3 according to the optical basicity theory;(2)The results show that the content of free oxygen in the magneto-optical glass increases with the addition of XRD and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,and the structure of the magneto-optical glass increases with the increase of Tb2O3 content from [BO3] and [GaO4] Become a mixed network such as [BO4],[GaO6],and [SiO4];(3)According to the thermal stability characterization data β,the stability of the magnetron glass sample is the highest when the Tb2O3 content is 22mol%,and the crystal activation energy increases first and then decreases with the increase of Tb2O3 content,and the Tb2O3 content is 22mol% When the largest,that is the lowest trend of crystallization;(4)With the increase of Tb2O3 content,the absorption of magneto-optical glass moves in the direction of long wave,and the Urbach energy and optical band gap of glass decrease.In this paper,the mass fraction of Tb2O3 is more than 10 wt.%,the excitation of magneto-optical glass,the intensity of emission spectrum and the lifetime of fluorescence are decreased with the increase of Tb2O3.With the decrease of optical band gap,the energy required for Tb3+ energy level transition decreases,and the intensity of magneto-optical glass decreases.At this time,cross-relaxation of Tb3+ ions(5D3,7F6)→(5D4,7F0)main reason;(5)The Verdet constant of magneto-optical glass increases with the increase of Tb2O3 content and optical basicity,but decreases with the increase of optical band gap.Tb2O3 content increases,the free O2-increases in the glass,increases the oxygen ion polarization rate,easily forms the electron cloud,allows the direct transition,the indirect transition band gap energy decreases.The optical band gap decreases,the luminous intensity decreases,and the Verdet constant increases.the Verdet constant of magneto-optical glass decreases exponentially with the increase of incident wavelength,and the effective transition wavelength of each magneto-optic glass is obtained by transforming the classical quantum theory formula,the effective transition wavelength of magneto-optical glass increases first and then decreases with the increase of Tb2O3 content,and the effective wavelength is the largest(299nm)when Tb2O3 content is 22mol%.While the magneto-optical glass visible light within the range of Tb2O3 content of 18 mol.% When the largest optical product factor;(6)The luminescence intensity of the co-doped magneto-optic glass decreases with the increase of Tb3+ and Dy3+ contents.In the presence of high concentration of acceptor(Tb3+)ions,energy transfer between Dy3+/Tb3+ interacts with non-radiative transition and 4F9/2+7F6→6H15/2+5D4 cross relaxation.With the increase of Dy3+ content,the radiation relaxation effect of 4F9/2+7F6→6H15/2+5D4 was enhanced.When the Dy3+ content is less than 1 mol.%,the energy of G1 glass is greater than that of D1 glass by the non-radiation resonance effect between Dy3+/Tb3+ and cross-relaxation is significant. |
