The isomeric tower plays an important role in the butyl octanol plant,while the separation efficiency of isometric tower has a direct impact on the quality of the product.In this paper,transformation research of tray is carried out for a petrochemical company,in which the butanol plant has problem with flooding and other serious problems and the isomeric tower can not run normally at full capacity.Based on the preliminary process calculation of the isomeric tower,it is confirmed that there is a gap between the actual numbers and theoretical number of trays.Through the informationresearch,it is proposed to replace the F1 float valve tower with the trapezoidal guide valve traywhich have a higher mass transfer efficiency.In order to verify the rationality of the reconstruction scheme,the F1 type floating valve and the trapezoidal guide valve were compared and analyzed from three aspects: theoretical calculation,process simulation and fluid mechanics simulation.In theoretical process calculation,the structure of the trapezoidal guide valve tray,overflow weir and downcomer is re-designed for the shortage of the original design,and the fluid load calculation of the tower body and structural parameters design are completed.In the aspect of process simulation,the process simulation and the plate sensitivity analysis of the two trays were carried out with the actual process parameters.The results show that the maximum flood factor of F1 valve is more than 0.8,while the trapezoidal guide float valve has a smaller factor value and lower pressure drop.In addition,the economy is better the best when tray number is 70.In the CFD simulation,the two-phase turbulence model is used to analyze the flow field of the float valve tray.There are mass transfer "dead zone" above the cover of F1 valve,while the gas-liquid distribution above the trapezoidal float valve is improved because the guide hole,which is beneficial to mass transfer between gas and liquid.In summary,the trapezoidal guide valve reconstruction program not only can achieve load requirements,but reduce the purpose of flooding and fog entrainment.Due to the reduction is based on theexisting tower structure,the total cost of tower transformation is lower.
