Rect-trapezoidal combined guided floating valve tray has become one of the trays with best hydrodynamic performance. This paper mainly studied the hydrodynamic performance of the tray.First, the influence of liquid intensity, superficial gas velocity and weir height on clear liquid height was measured. Then a new correlation of clear liquid height suitable for rect-trapezoidal guided floating valve tray was established, which provided basic data for the CFD simulation of gas liquid two-phase flow.In the simulation of single-phase flow of gas, according to the simulation results of single-phase flow, analyzed the flow field of gas on combined guided floating valve tray concretely, and laid foundation for the research of gas liquid two-phase flow on the tray.In the simulation of gas-liquid flow, Euler-Euler framework was chosen to solve the equations of both gas and liquid phases. Momentum transfer phenomenon between gas and liquid was also considered. The inter-phase momentum exchanging term was based on the new correlation of clear liquid height, which was obtained from experimental data. By compared with the experimental counterparts, the simulation result was verified and more simulations were carried out for various operational conditions. Based on the CFD simulation results of two phase flow, concrete analysis of the distribution about phase fraction and velocity vector was carried out.
